Oxiclean: the stain specialist

First off, did anyone know that bananas stain clothes? I never would have thought... but when I got some of Drew's clothes out of the dryer and saw some weird brown spots on a couple of the shirts I couldn't figure it out. Was there a marker in there or something? It was weird because they were all only dirty around the neckline (where Drew typically spills his food...) After I discovered that it was bananas I thought about just presoaking the clothes, maybe putting some prewash stuff on it and then washing them again... well that was like 5 washes and 2 months ago...
Drew has just been wearing this shirt with the stains on it like a grungy kid

A neighbor told me that Oxiclean would take banana stains out but she had never used it on clothes that had been washed and dried (multiple times) So I tried it anyway.... and presto...
I'm still kind of shocked at how easy it was and how well it worked. You can't really tell in the picture but the shirt is a cream color. The color didn't change or bleach out at all. So later I tried it on a lot more clothes, and they all look great! I just boiled some water and worked out a little concoction and soaked the clothes. It was weird but it worked. I picture methamphetamine makers looking kind of similar...stirring chemicals in a bowl in their kitchen...

Good to know! So many of Ethan's shirts that have been washed and dried still have stains on them. Argh. I'll definitely try this.

I love that Sara. I should try it. I put hot water in a sink, add equal parts bleach and DRY dishwashing soap. There is a chemical reaction and it takes out anything! (sometimes even color) I learned this little trick when I had babies with nasty stained clothes. Garage sale cute clothes with formula stains - came out just like new.

Gotta put that on my shopping list! I don't usually mash bananas into my clothes BUT I do have a few missed stains that I'd love to get out!! PS--MISS YOU TONS!!!!!!!

I love that shirt - it was the first one that we bought for Benson when we found out the gender. So cute!
I use Biz in every load of baby laundry - it's a miracle powder! If there is a really intense stain, I just soak it in the sink with some Biz for a little while before I wash it.

Ahh You are a lifesaver. Bryan and I were standing in front of the oxiclean for 10 minutes the other day debating to buy it or not and we didn't think it would work. Well now I must go buy some and try it!

I was really surprised too by how well Oxiclean works. I've never tried it with boiling water; I'll have to do that sometime.

Dude, that is AWESOME! Our drying leaves RUST stains on our whites which is absolutely gayyyy.... so perhaps I need to get some of this stuff and REALLY test its magic!
