Laparosocpic surgery to do a little "clean up" job from the hysterectomy I had in June. Since then I have been having a lot of pain in my abdomen region due to scar tissue. fast forward months of monitoring, ultrasounds, and blood tests to find out that I need to have scar tissue, multiple cysts, fallopian tubes removed, and some fluid drained.
That was all just yesterday, through 3 incisions on my abdomen. The ovaries were again spared and we're hoping they will be viable to produce enough hormones for a few more years.
I threw up 9 times yesterday (talk about acid damage on my teeth!) but I am already feeling a lot better today, just sore and full of CO2 in my shoulders that will hopefully pass the next few days.
I had a roommate yesterday named Sarah, (the 'H' was how we determined who was who) we were separated by a thin curtain that didn't filter out any of the conversations. I found out later she had ear surgery to fix a hearing problem-- makes sense now why she was talking so loud.
I'm so grateful for the friends that we have in Ithaca to take care of me and my children while we are far away from family. There is no way I could have done this surgery with out their help. I'm thinking 25 surgeries turns me into the artificial woman, hopefully there is little to no need for more surgeries on this 80 year old body.

I hope I look like you when I'm 80 and I hope I have as many crazy stories. You are awesome and I only wish I could make it out of one surgery the way you have all of your 25. Cheers to next hospital-free 25 years!
I cannot believe you have had that many surgeries, you are a freaking rockstar! Love you and I hope you have a speedy recovery!
Super cute little hospital picture. Sorry I laughed out loud at the hearing loss comment. One day while Konrad was bishop in California he visited a person in the hospital and the entire family was there. They asked him to say a prayer for them and at the last minute told him that grandpa was nearly deaf so he had to YELL the prayer. HAHAHAHAHA. I laugh everytime he tells that story because the nurses came running to see what was the matter. HAHAHAHA. Hospital stories are always the funniest. Love you.
Love you!
I'm sure they love operating on you because you look so cute in that hospital gown. You are killing it girl!
I wish I were there with you!!
You are amazing. You have been through so much in your life and you are just amazing.
YOu inspire me Sara!
Also too, you look cute and darling even in the hospital!
Seriously Sar, I don't know how you do it. Wish I could be there to hold your barf bag, I would probably barf seeing you barf but I would try my best.
Love you.
I'd believe you were 80 if you ACTED that way!! But....you don't. And thanks to your funny hospital story and Diane's follow up I laughed out loud in the office today....I needed that!! Love you--Auntie C.
I'm not sure exactly why but this web site is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end? I'll check
back later and see if the problem still exists.

It's been a while since I looked at the blogs. I'm glad the ovaries were spared but still - this is must be so frustrating.
