The Name Game

When people find out you are pregnant some of the usual questions are
"When are you due?"
"How are you feeling?"
"What is it?" and
"Do you have a name?"

Unfortunately we don't have a name as of yet, but hopefully we still have a lot of time to think about it. A name is really important, and in some cases (resumes and applications) it precedes you. Which is why we want it to be a normal name.

But I couldn't help but think about the possibility of naming him Elliot, Jack or Jimmer.
Detective Elliot Stabler- Law & Order SVU, Jack Bauer- 24, and of course THE Jimmer Fredette

Name choosing is the hardest part of having a kid, we thought. We didn't choose a name until two or three weeks before he was born. Unfortunately, for us there was no "perfect" name. We just chose the one we disliked the least and now it totally works. Good Luck!

So. I have always loved the name Elliott. My spouse won't let me even consider it as a possibility which makes me pout.

I maintain that Jimmer was misspelled on the birth certificate (like Oprah was).

Jason would say Jimmer for sure but I say you couldn't go wrong with any of those names...they are winners! :)

Hmmm....add Orton to all of them...I'm partial to Jack. Jimmer sounds sort of weird...and in 3 years everyone will say "Jimmer who?" and by the way...didn't he choke against Kansas? Okay...as you can tell Jimmer isn't my favorite...hee hee hee. Glad we're getting into the name game stage. This is going to be F-U-N!!

#1 Eliminate any name that you two 'know someone' that has that name. Especially if said person used to pick their nose or something gross like that!
#2 Eliminate any name that rhymes with a bad word, or something that some mean kid will think is funny...eg.: Shelly = Smelly!
#3 Eliminate any name that when shortened is something you don't like!
#4 Eliminate any name that your child will hate you for later!
#5 Eliminate any name Rebecca would give to you, or your children will be named after Pokemon (shes beside me hitting me right now)!!!
...NOT SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM NOW IS THERE??
Love you guys good luck!!!!!!!!

We could totally go for Jack--three of our favorite TV shoes all have Jacks. 24, Lost, and 30 Rock!

Yes, I almost named Carter COHEN because I am obsessed with seth cohen from the OC. After being told by my grandma 80 times that cohen is a jewish name and we are not jews, I stuck with Carter.
