There isn't much to say when you haven't left your couch, except for doctor appointments, for over 29 days. I don't want this to turn in to one of those annoying blogs that is all about pregnancy but it's all I've got going on as of late. However I do have to say that I believe the bedrest is working. We reached the very important milestone of 24 weeks and hope to get to a couple more big milestones (28, 32, etc...) But everyday makes the chances of a healthy baby boy increase. I learned that one day in the womb is worth three days in the NICU. So I always reassure Spencer that I am saving us a lot of money in the long run in hopes of him buying me treats here and there.
I started 17p Progestrone shots (to stop preterm labor) a couple weeks ago and will continue on them until the little babe arrives (which is hopefully still not for a while) And next week we are looking forward to receiving corticosteroid shots to speed up the little guys lung development, just in case. I also have been taking this nice fatty pill for muscle relaxation which helps to keep my uterus nice and soft and free of contractions. But the medicine also relaxes other muscles too (like my heart) which lowers my blood pressure and sends me to dreamland-- with a big fat red face.
I have taken some tests at home which I have to admit is a lot less intimidating then walking into the BYU testing center. I will be happy when school is over so I can devote all my time to television and online shopping. Other things I have found enjoyable are watching the maintenance workers outside as the smell of fresh cut grass fills our home. Other exciting things include visitors. We have been so blessed (me in the aspect of not going crazy, and Spencer in the aspect that I'm not a basketcase when he gets home from school) Which is due to the high traffic of visitors - THANK YOU. People are so willing to help with cleaning, laundry and meals that I might just consider being on bedrest even after the little one arrives...

Ooh shots in the bottom. that sounds awesome. Maybe I have a fear of needles. perhaps.
just think of how many times throughout your son's life when you will get to say, "I spent (insert amount of time here) on my back and that is why you can't go (insert sketchy activity here)!!"
Yay, I'm glad someone else has nothing to do in the evenings except watch Dr. Phil!

sara, i love your positive attitude. i'm sure its not like that all the time, but would i find it hard to believe that its not unsual to see you happily "relaxing" on the couch. I am SO glad things seem to be working well. I can only imagine the relief. And nice tip about the 3 days/NICU fact, I'll have to remember that!
i'm glad you keep up with our blog (so that i don't seem so creepy in keeping up with yours). :-)
Enjoy your time once school gets out. Let me know if you're interested in some good books...I've read quite a bit since having James.
Sara! It saddens me to hear that you are hurting and are forced to be a couch potato! But I am sure it will all be worth it when you have your precious baby. We hope you are doing well and let us know if you need anything :D
That's a special aunt/niece relationsip that can withstand a bum shot. Good for you guys.
And good for you for having a good attitude. Seriously.
Congrats on making it to 24 weeks! I'm so excited for you! I love your posts too, you're a good writer and funny :)
Hang in there Miss Sarah! Our prayers are with you and the wee little one. Can't wait to see the cutie!
Sarah you are my hero. Seriously such a champ. Champ is a lame word I know, but you rock.
I am so happy that baby is healthy and bedrest is working!
