Atlanta Trip

Not sure if anyone even reads this blog anymore, but let me try to catch up on the last month (or more) of our lives.

At the end of February Drew and I went to visit my parents for about 2 weeks. I celebrated 20 weeks while there and was carted around in a wheelchair most of the time by an overreacting mom :)
Looking like death at the airport.
Drew was in love with the neighbors dog, so much so that when it was time to go inside he would cry and then run to a room where he could see the dog from a window. Our neighbor eventually gave him a little dog stuffed animal toy to have. The warmer temperatures were a nice reason to be outside as well (note: Drew solely in a diaper)
One day we went downtown to visit the zoo. Zoo Atlanta is pretty nice (I say that after having Syracuse zoo in my mind) and once again, the warm weather allowed for all the animals to be out for our viewing pleasure. Drew liked the petting zoo and the train but you wouldn't be able to tell from the somber expressions on his face.

Other events included but aren't limited to: going to the circus (which was AWESOME!- just waiting on some pics, dad...) Eating some things I have been craving but can't find in Ithaca- i.e. Calamari (Drew practically inhaled it) Getting a haircut. Hanging out with cousins. Brother-in-law Matt having his appendix taken out. Shopping at stores that don't exist here. Pedicures with my sister. Drew bathing in my parents big whirlpool bathtub and dancing naked from the balcony after. Using the "expectant mothers" parking spots whenever we went somewhere.

Now for a small explanation: My laptop broke last April around graduation, so in a few short weeks it will be one year without having a laptop. Not sure if that is something to brag about or cry about (I think the latter) Then in December coming back from Utah for Christmas we somehow lost our camera. So now we are really falling behind technology. So blogging is limited to times when Spencer is home with his laptop, and often without pictures. However, we just got a new camera so hopefully we will be up and blogging more often.

Mobile Uploads: Special Edition

This is a Special Edition of Mobile Uploads because these two pictures have come from Spencer's phone. Spencer doesn't take a lot of pictures so I was glad to see he even had these two little numbers....

While driving in the great state of New York you are unable to be on a hand held device. So while driving and talking on the phone I invented this hands-free contraption. Works like a gem. As long as you don't mind looking like Aunt Jemima in a headwrap while driving around.

This picture was taken during our first few weeks in the Empire State, unfortunately it doesn't currently look like that outside (we followed him for a few blocks to get the snapshot). We were reminded of this picture on Saturday when we were positive we saw the same man running on a treadmill at the YMCA. He was sprinting in khakis and dress shoes. So unless there are two men in Ithaca that work out in Dockers I am pretty sure we saw the same guy.

A very Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas

I will probably never fully post about our month long Christmas break. Drew did great on all six flights and then had a blast running through every airport we stopped at. He enjoyed playing with all of his aunts and uncles and got really good at using stairs (we live on the first floor and have no stairs in our apartment) Drew also enjoyed waking up every single night while we were there. He has been spoiled from sleeping in his luxurious crib and wasn't fond of sleeping in a pack n' play while on vacation, so in the long run he didn't sleep once through the night. However now that we are home and after a few nights of some serious sleep training he is back to his old self.
I don't think I took more than 10 pictures during our month long vacation so instead I'll take a picture of what Drew has been obsessing over and what he got a lot of during Christmas. Winnie the Pooh. It is weird because I don't even know how he got introduced to Winnie the Pooh, but somehow he has just become obsessed with anything that has to do with that "silly old bear"... He has the latest movie which we have probably watched 50 times (many of those times were during said sleepless nights on vacation) and now has many of the figurines and toys to go with it. Not sure how long this phase will last but it sure is cute when he comes out of his room saying "Pooh Bear" and holding every toy he can manage.  (Not pictured- his awesome Winnie the Pooh bath toy his aunt got him and few more movies...)

We're Alive...

The HFMD didn't kill us, we just happen to be on vacation. Which means, we haven't been doing much but eating, relaxing, seeing friends, and playing games.
Check out this stack of Christmas cards I never sent out... like I said we haven't had time to do any busy work.

HFMD- warning: graphic images

HFMD... also known as Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. It's as gross as it sounds, and prior to now I thought it was something only animals got. However children do indeed get it, often from sharing toys with snot and slobber on it-- but apparently adults can get it too. I'm so embarrassed I caught a baby disease! I originally thought it was from the mass amount of little delicious clementines I was eating. WRONG.
For the last week Drew and I have been eating pudding, yogurt and popsicles (Drew usually eating in the bath). We've been trying not to disturb all the blisters that have formed in our mouths. Drew has little blisters also on his hands and feet.
I never had HFMD as a child, so as an adult I am more susceptible-- and now that I think about it, I never had chickenpox either! I think it has been nice to have had this sickness at the same time as Drew because as I eat something terribly painful I know not to give it to him. Hopefully this explains his horrible sleeping habits lately.
