"HELLO... EARTH TO DORIS!!!"
Well, if you look back to posts from Summer '06, you'll find that I'm no rookie when it comes to working in the fireworks business. Since I'm working full-time at the Dermatologist office, I worked a few nig
hts doing PRE-orientation work. Getting papers and trinkets together that were to be handed out. Orientation fortunately landed on a Monday, which is our day off, so I was also able to help out at the actual event. People from all over Georgia that are selling fireworks come to the orientation to get their supplies (cash registers, tents, fireworks, etc.) so that they are prepared for the week of July 4th. The most interesting people come to this orientation. People of all different shapes, colors and false teeth sets. To make the day a little more interesting for myself I d
ecided to put DORIS on my name tag. I guess in honor of Grandma Salmon. I worked at the registration table, so I'd tell people to make their name tags, and I'd hand them their designated folder for their specific selling area. These folders were filled with contracts, papers, and extra name tags for when they sell. Some people would say "Thanks Doris!" And I would smile really big. On one occasion, a man was apparently talking to me for quite some time and eventually said to me with a raised voice "HELLLLOOOO.... EARTH TO DORIS..." And I just started laughing. My dad snapped these lovely pictures of me after arriving home at 1:30am. a 14 hour work day. I don't recommend it.

One year older and wiser too...
As of June 1st- Nathan is now officially an adult.
Holy smokes my parents are old.
Once you're 18 years old, you're an adult--with the same rights and responsibilities as an 87 year old.The only exceptions that come to mind are the age to legally drink alcohol and to gamble. You must be 21 years of age. Those are two exceptions, applied in all States, to the Federal law. So being 18, means you are an adult... which in the United States means that you are also eligible for voting--however, being Canadian, Nathan, nor I (or anyone else in our family except Matt) can vote. Too bad Nate. 18 is just another crumby birthday.

Dippin' Dots, Pretzels & Budweiser
I've gone to a lot of graduations over the last few weeks. I've left the update on Aaron and Gary's grad to the blo
gging of Tara and Stacey ... But also not to mention I really didn't have anything too fun or exciting happen at the BYU graduation. Spencer met my parents, ok so something did happen... hahahaha... but really besides that, a few good meals, and my parents being in town not much happened. BYU graduation was formal and almost serious. No foghorns, falling graduates, cowbells, or I ♥ (YOUR NAME HERE) banners. Which was
somewhat unfortunate. I love it when people embarrass themselves horribley in front of thousands of people. After I wrapped things up in Provo, and said my goodbyes, I headed home to ATL where I have been for the last month. Life here is slow. Work is fun, social and rather enjoyable, but the days are so long and hot that they all somehow mesh in to one extra long day. Matt's graduation was a few weeks back... CONGRATS TO MY FAVORITE BROTHER-IN-LAW...Matt's graduation ceremony was most likely the most eventful thing
I have experienced since coming home. I loved every minute of it. The venue in which the graduation took place was none other then the Georgia Dome. The name MATTHEW CALLOWAY appeared a few times on the Jumbo-tron... and we cheered each time we saw it... assuming that he was the only Matthew Calloway in the graduating class. The place was crowded with people dressed in everything and anything... or nothing. Mumus, wife beaters, and mesh shirts all the way to tuxedos, ball gowns and nice suits. It was a really nice ceremony. The speakers were funny and entertaining and worked well for the masses. It was the only graduation I have ever been to that had pizza, popcorn, Dippin' Dots, pretzels, alcohol, hotdogs and Starbucks Kiosks. What a fun and diverse school Matt has graduated from! Congrats Matt!
The video was taken (who knows why) by my dad to kind of give the idea of the atmosphere. After zooming in on the young boys earring in front of us, the people behind us began talking about the weirdness which is right when the video ended.

Easter/Conference/MonthOfApril?
I KNOW! I'm bad.
Bad to the bone when it comes to updating my blog. Just
because I don't update often doesn't mean I don't constantly check everyone elses! SO KEEP UPDATING!!! hahaha. Well March flew by, and practically so has April. School is almost out!! Yayyyy. Easter was fun. We had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard (which you probably read about in detail last month on someone elses blog--thanks Shannon/Steph/Tara.) As for conference, Aunt Carol had a pair of extra tickets which Kaiti Pratt and I
enjoyed taking off her hands. We were able to go to the Sun
day afternoon session. Middle of April Kandyyy Jill was headed back down to Rexburg for summer semester and decided to swing down a little further and make it to Provo so the four of us could reunite (Glamor Shot Enclosed). Kandice, Kaiti, Alana and I went to dinner and had fun catching up and laughing with each other. The fun was short lived, as we are just finishing up school here and Provo and needed to hit the books for finals. I guess
no news is good news... which would explain the lack of updates o
n my blog. Things have been good and really busy. I almost forgot... I got an emergency root canal done too! It wasn't the funnest thing I have ever done, but there were parts that I particularly enjoyed... one being the laughing gas. Aunt Karen was kind enough to drive me to my appointments Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Monday was the pulpotomy, the drilling out of the root... The dentist put a temporary cap in so that it could drain, but Tuesday morning rolled around and the cap was no where to be found. Tuesday they put another cap on, and then I returned Wednesday to get the finishing touches! What a month!!!
